UCRAINA - Fondazione Sant’Elia in aiuto ai giovani artisti ucraini in fuga dal loro Paese

Fondazione Sant’Elia grazie al contatto diretto con Aljoscha, uno dei maggiori visual artist contemporanei ucraini, supporta giovani artisti in fuga dalla guerra. 

L’artista ucraino il 22 febbraio 2022 si era esibito in una performance nel cuore della città di Kiev, di fronte al monumento di epoca sovietica innalzato per celebrare la vittoria dell’esercito russo contro il regime di Adolph Hitler.

Completamente nudo di fronte al monumento, l’artista, tenendo tra le mani due composizioni astratte riferite alla pratica del bioismo, di cui è sostenitore, denuncia la follia della guerra. Una follia ideologica che sta prendendo il sopravvento sulla razionalità.

Contattato dal Sovrintendente della Fondazione Sant’Elia, Antonino Ticali, al quale ha inviato i file delle immagini della performance che a breve saranno stampate ed esposte a Palazzo Sant’Elia, Aljoscha ha diffuso sui propri canali facebook l’invito della Fondazione Sant’Elia ad accogliere artisti ucraini in fuga dalla guerra, in una delle due residenze di artista da poco realizzate all’interno di Palazzo Sant’Elia.

L'accoglienza da parte della Città e della Città Metropolitana di Palermo di quanti stanno fuggendo dall'inferno ucraino non si ferma. Nel tempo difficile che stiamo vivendo la pace si collega, oggi più che mai, alla vita che costituisce il diritto dei diritti degli esseri umani e che s'intreccia con la mobilità internazionale che non può essere violata da insulse leggi da parte degli Stati. Palermo continua a dare, con azioni concrete, un forte segnale all'Europa accogliendo quanti scappano dalla guerra. Esprimo il mio più sentito ringraziamento alla Fondazione Sant'Elia che si è subito resa disponibile ad offrire a giovani artisti alcuni locali di Palazzo Sant'Elia dove potranno continuare ad esprimere la propria arte in totale libertà.

Bioism condemns any violence against humans, animals and plants.
The suffering and war must be stopped!
There are no justified conflicts, all of them are criminal, causing violence and pain to all kinds of biological beings.
Any kind of human ideology is violent per se: as for instance bloodthirsty motherland requires endless human sacrifices.
Pacifism shall be extended to the peace and eudaimonia movement for all beings of this planet.

As an European artist of ukrainian-russian origin, I stood naked and unprotected as an animals and plants are in the silent protest against any kind of ideological madness.

UKRAINE - Fondazione Sant'Elia to help young Ukrainian artists fleeing their country

Fondazione Sant’Elia thanks to its direct contact with Aljoscha, one of Ukraine's leading contemporary visual artists, supports young artists fleeing war.

The Ukrainian artist on 22 February 2022 had performed in a performance in the heart of the city of Kiev, in front of the Soviet-era monument erected to celebrate the victory of the Russian army against the regime of Adolph Hitler.

Completely naked in front of the monument, the artist, holding in his hands two abstract compositions referring to the practice of bioism, of which he is a supporter, denounces the madness of war. An ideological madness that is taking over from rationality.

Contacted by the Superintendent of Fondazione Sant’Elia, Antonino Ticali, to whom he sent the files of the images of the performance that will soon be printed and exhibited at Palazzo Sant'Elia, Aljoscha has spread on its own Facebook channels the invitation of Fondazione Sant’Elia to welcome Ukrainian artists fleeing the war, in one of the 2 artist residences recently realized inside Palazzo Sant'Elia.

The reception by the City and the Metropolitan City of Palermo of those who are fleeing from Ukrainian hell does not stop. In the difficult times in which we are living, peace is connected, today more than ever, to the life that constitutes the right of human rights beings and that is intertwined with international mobility that cannot be violated by vapid laws on the part of States. Palermo continues to give, with concrete actions, a strong signal to Europe by welcoming those who escape from war. I express my heartfelt thanks to Fondazione Sant’Elia that immediately made itself available to offer some rooms of Palazzo Sant'Elia to young artists where they can continue to express their art in total freedom.
