MISSION

The Sant’Elia Foundation aims to promote the diffusion of culture and art as tools for the growth of civil society. It was born at the end of 2010 from the will of the pro tempore provincial council, also in order to protect and enhance the artistic, monumental and cultural heritage of the area. On 3 August 2012 it was registered in the register of legal entities of the Sicilian Region as a legal entity under private law. In 2013, the Province of Palermo granted the Foundation the use of Palazzo Santa Croce and Trigona di Sant’Elia, which became its registered office, and of the Loggiato di San Bartolomeo, since then mainly used as venues for temporary exhibitions. The Sant’Elia Foundation proposes itself as a cultural center not only for figurative arts but also for musical and literary activities. Collaborates with public and private institutions, individual collectors, service clubs. The Foundation offers the possibility of using its premises also for congresses, meetings, presentation of brands, private events, upon payment of a fee the amount of which is established by the public tariff. The proceeds are entirely used for the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the buildings. The revenues are used for the maintenance of the buildings under management and for the pursuit of its institutional purposes. All bodies operate free of charge.
